This talk is dedicated to cooking as an artistic practice. Cooking and eating together connects people and creates space for conviviality and exchange. At the same time, cooking habits, recipes, and food reflect political shifts—on both an individual and a societal level. The loss of certain dishes and ingredients is often intertwined with stories of migration and displacement, as seen in the work of Mirna Bamieh. She, Sandra Knecht, and the collective Britto Arts Trust will discuss cooking as an artistic practice, the politics of food, and the power of collaborative processes.
