Pakghor – The Social Kitchen

with Adam Fehr

Installation with open kitchen · Join in

At Pakghor by Britto Arts Trust, people cook and eat together. The Social Kitchen becomes a meeting place and a forum for exchange in public space.

Different groups and organizations were invited to share their recipes and stories. Today, the Social Kitchen is organized by Adam Fehr.

Overview:
Lunch is cooked in the bamboo pavilion six days a week, and food is served from 12 to 2 p.m. at no cost. Anyone is welcome to watch, eat along, and join the conversation. Some of the ingredients used are grown in the garden next door.

Menu

Today I'm cooking Adobo from the Philippines—a dish that represents Filipino cooking at its heart. Umami-packed, garlicky, with a slight tang from vinegar. Pinoy is what we call ourselves, Filipinos, and adobo is pure Pinoy cooking: savoury and flavourful, my comfort food.

Paired with a Tomato Salad tossed in mustard oil and lime inspired by my year abroad in Bangladesh. Two kitchens that have a special place in my heart, brought together on one plate.
